The Web on the Candidates
- Kate Phillips of The New York Times' The Caucus rounds up the netroots' reaction to John Edwards' decision not to participate in a Fox News-sponsored debate in Nevada next August. Some at TPMCafe see the decision as a sign that Edwards "is making a serious bid to be the 'netroots' candidate." With praise for the decision coming from Atrios, Matt Stoller, and others, Edwards is certainly scoring some netroots points.
- Giuliani advisor Patrick Ruffini lists his favorite '08 blogs that, he says, "will be in the thousands of visits by the time Iowa and New Hampshire roll around." The list includes Race42008, Eyeon08, GOP Progress, and the Brody File.
The Candidates on the Web
- In a new video posted on his site, Joe Biden goes to Allison, Iowa. The video is shot in a more candid, amateurish style than before, and at first I was heartened to see Biden finally loosen up and take a lesson or two from British MP David Cameron. Does Biden finally get online video? But as I watched Biden take up a minute or so of precious video time to explain to a handful of Iowans that his state, Delaware, is rural and that the largest city has 85,000 people -- and as I saw that the video was far longer than any online video should be -- I realized that, no, Biden still doesn't get video at all.
