The Young Democrats of America has teamed up with Cherry Tree Mobile to create a mobile petition and activist base around the issue of college affordability. By texting the word "COLLEGE" to the shortcode 35328 you get two texts in return:
First Message: YDA: Thanks for joining YDA's Student Loan campaign. Std. txt msg rates apply. Reply STOP to quit: HELP for more. Second Message: YDA- Thanks for signing the petition! Forward this to friends, ask them to text COLLEGE to 35328 to urge Congress to cut college loan interest rates.
And then today, in light of the fact that that there was a vote in the House on the subject I received the following message:
Today the House votes to cut student loan interest rates. Call 866-699-9243 urge your Representative to vote yes on HRS - more @ yda.org/collegeaffordability
